Michael J. Burlaka, QPA, QKA, APA, AKS

Michael J. Burlaka is the founder and owner of Arrowhead Pensions, Inc., bringing more than 25 years of experience in qualified retirement plan administration. Throughout his career, Mike has built a proven track record in the retirement plan industry, helping businesses navigate complex compliance and plan design with clarity and confidence.

Prior to founding Arrowhead Pensions in June 2006, Mike served as a Plan Administrator and Manager at several of Phoenix’s leading retirement plan firms, where he developed deep expertise across a wide range of qualified plans.

Mike has earned multiple respected industry designations, reflecting his commitment to excellence and ongoing education, including:

• Enrolled Retirement Plan Administrator (ERPA) – Internal Revenue Service

• Qualified Plan Administrator (QPA) – ASPPA

• Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) – ASPPA

• Accredited Pension Administrator (APA) – NIPA

• Accredited 401(k) Specialist (AKS) – NIPA

 

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Brockport.

Mike is also a proud United States Army veteran, having served as a Military Police Officer and earning the prestigious Army Airborne Badge. He served his country with distinction and honor. God, Family, and Country remain at the core of his personal and professional values.

Personal Life

​

Mike is married to his wife, Angie Burlaka, and together they share a beautiful family that includes a daughter and a son. Outside of work and family life, Mike is a third-degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where he actively instructs and competes. He also enjoys exploring Arizona’s stunning landscape through camping and ATV riding along the back roads with family and friends.
